I just received a call from Tim. He went into the hospital in Lincoln (Bryon LGH East) this afternoon. The doctors don't know weather his cancer has returned or if it is a severe lung infection. Include Tim and his family in your prayers to get healthy again so that he can see his son return from Iraq.

If I hear more I'll let you all know.

Hey guys first of all I would like to thank Robert and Eric Schmelzer for doing this for me. You guys are great! Second to all that have prayed for me! You guys are great also! The hospital supplied me with a laptop so I could go online. I wanted to thank all you personally. To start the doctors thought it was cancer and had spread quite a bit into the left lung and partly into the right lung. After the lungoscopy and pathology results came back there is only cancer in the bronchial tube which was a huge relief. My oncologist told me if the whole thing was cancer I would only have a short time left. So it's only in the bronchial tube so the oncologist is coming to fill me in on the plan of attack with this tommorrow and will be released tommorrow to go home with oxygen and breathing treatments. This cancer is the same cancer that was found in my throat 2 years ago. A very agressive form of cancer. So I'm leaning on the only true healer the Lord and prayer to knock this one out also. Again I would like all for your thoughts and prayers in this time and I will try and keep you all posted on what is happening to show all that prayer and he Lord do work. Thanks again to all and God bless you all!
Tim

Tim, got your PMs. Your very welcome. I was thinking about stopping up to the hospital tonight to see how you were doing. Looks like it would have been a wasted trip as you had already gone home. Its good to hear that its not as bad as originally thought. Best of luck and if you need anything don't hesitate to ask.

Well the news from the oncologist was not what I wanted to hear. Granted this is from a Doctors standpoint. They had done some further testing after I left the hospital and the part they thought at first that was spreading like wildfire in my lungs wasn't cancer, was cancer after all. He said there is no cure for it. I have a few weeks left or maybe a couple months at best. I told him to proceed with the chemo. and we'll see what happens. He it may extend my life up to 6 months if it works but no more than that. It's in the Lords hands now and has been from day one. I'm at peace with it so far and maybe it just hasn't really sunk in yet. Anyway that is what I found out today.
Thanks Ya'll for everything!!! :TU: :3gears:

I am really sorry to hear about Tim . We talked several times and he told me about his condition . I figured he was getting worse as I have no theard from him in several weeks . That is really depressing with the cancer we are treating here at home .

I never met Tim, I never spoke to Tim but I have followed this thread in the hope things would work out for him.

If a measure of a man is how he deals with what life throws at him then Tim was a man to be admired and respected.

I'm sure I speak for all Buick fans on this side of the pond when I send my deepest sympathy and best wishes to his family.

Darn:blast:

We'll miss you Tim. I hope to meet you there someday.

To the Pickard family,

I pray you find peace and comfort in the Lord at this time. Tim included us in his battle with cancer. Heck....he'd encourage us more than we did him! Those of us who didn't know him pesonnally must have really missed out. Those of us who met him here are honored to have been included in his life, especially his last days.

My heart is saddenned yet I know from Tim's faith this was a homegoing for him. I shared in another post with him that we'd meet one day in heaven since I did not have the opportunity to meet him here on earth. As a believer, I admire his faith through our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray at this time that our Lord send another comfortor, the Holy Spirit, to provide for the Pickard family's needs as well as for strength, peace, and comfort.

Wow, that's sad to hear, but what a story he's left for us here on the V8 board. I'm thankful to Tim for sharing his battle and his faith, and I look forward to meeting him later.

May God bless his family! And may Tim's story -- especially as it is encapsulated here at V8Buick -- lead others to know Christ like he knows Christ.

Well this sucks. I spoke to him a few times and he was a car guy just like the rest of us. Real nice guy. What a shame.

My prayers are for him and his family.

P.S. I was staring at his number in my phone just the other day and said " I need to call and see how he is". Funny how things go sometimes.

At least he can now talk cars with some of the best car guys ever.

Sorry to hear about Tim's passing. But yet I am confident of where Tim will spend eternity.
His strong faith during his illness was an inspiration to me. I can recall the first time I brought Tim's name up during our small group prayer time. It just wasn't a matter of requesting prayer for him, it was also an opportunity to share Tim's witness and how vocal he was about his confidence in what eternity held for him.
My condolences to Tim's family....and may they, like Tim, experience His peace that passes all understanding.
