It's not that hard if you have the tools and know how to use them. A kit would be eaiser since it's all engineered to work together.

If this is your first time doing something like this, take your time, look at what others have done (and what worked and what didn't!), ask questions, and think 3 times, measure twice, and cut once!

And if you totally make a mess of something, cut it out and do it right!

I did it to mine, but never finished it...

It's ALOT of work, and it isn't cheap. If I remember right there were several hundred dollars just in the heim ends!

Like you, I love the steamroller look too! I don't think I've ever seen a rivi tubbed out. Sounds sweet! :TU:
I'm going to have to guess that you won't find a "kit" though. You can probably by a universal rear subframe kit that will be close, but I bet you'll need to refab some of it, and almost guarantee the cage will be completely custom.

I fabricated my own frame rails, driveshaft-loop & crossmembers.
And with doing that, I still spent alot of money....
I'm with you though, I like the wide-weiner look...
Sounds like a cool project....
Good luck!

All good points!

Call around and tell them what you want to do, and ask what do they recommend.

I don't see any reason to remove the body.

I didn't remove mine. And about 15 years ago I had a local speed shop back-half a Monza for me.... they didn't remove the body either.

So what would the first step be? Removing the old frame?:3gears:

Can anyone list the major steps for me? thanks
