First off, I'd like to thank everyone who chimed in to help me resolve my noise/starter problem. The starter is no longer sticking to the flywheel and the engine runs pretty well all things considered.

Now onto my other problem. I am missing whatever linkage goes between the steering column linkage and the transmission lever. I have the linkage that attaches to the steering column, and that rotates a lever down near the bottom of the firewall, but that is it - I have nothing connecting it to the lever on the transmission.

Does anyone have any pictures of what this lever looks like? I don't even know what I am looking for!

Thanks in advance guys. You've been a giant help so far.

I found two of these in my trunk. Does this look anything like it?

Thanks ahead of time, and I do apologize for the constant questions. Someday I'll understand this buick enough to help somebody else!

That's it. Attach it with cotter pins and you're ready to roll.

Excellent! Thanks for the reply. Now to find that brass junction block that threads into the intake for the vacuum lines to the brake booster and vacuum pump. I can't wait to see the deer-in-the-headlights look on the parts store kid's face.

What power options do you have on your Special?

Just power brakes and power steering. I managed to "build" a vacuum tee out of brass fittings from NAPA. It's larger than the original one so I had to bend the metal hoses a bit for clearance.

Of course, my fuel pump is no longer functional, so I doubt the vacuum portion of it works either. One more thing to fix, along with that insanely expensive master cylinder. :eek2:
