Devon thanks, Im lucky to have a good friend that knows how to work metal and weld. The Trans is a temec TKO 600 with a 1st 2.87 2nd 1.89 3rd 1.28 4th 1.00 and 5th .64. Havent got around to the rearend yet, but planning on 3.55 or 3.73 .

With ratios like that, I'd give up my VP trans. And that's like taking my right arm from me!

Yea he needs a Crash n Burn style shifter where you gotta cut a hole in the roof for it to fit ;)

I'll bet the Tremec's got a pretty short throw, though.

Did you use an OEM bell housing? I was wondering about a T5 from a mustang or F-body, but, I read somewhere the mounting holes were canted 15 degrees. You used a TKO, was it a kit? What shifter did you end up using?
Thanks.
Looks good!

Bar50 I used a OEM bellhousing and bought the TKO kit from Classic Motorsports group. Check their website, they offer complete kits that come with all you will need, even set you up with a new drive shaft with correct yolk and u-joint..it came with a hurst shifter with your choice of handle... John

Really nice set-up. How did y'all roll that lip like that? Did you replace the tunnel, or were you able to do that in the car?

very nice job, now the big question...is the carpet goin a fit? I'm actually serious cause with my richmond 5 spd conversion the hump had major mods (got alot bigger) and i just ordered new carpet but worried i'll come up short on the sides by the door sills? Gord

I bought a non console 4spd floor hump from National Parts Depot for a chevelle and a friend made up a piece for the top of the tunnel and welded it together to try and get a cleaner factory look.

Thankfully the carpet just fit. To fit the tranny the tunnel had to get alittle taller and longer for clearance. John

We just installed a Keisler TKO 600 kit in my 72 GS convertible. Went in perfect. Very minor mods to the tunnel, stock location for a 4-speed console. Put it all together except the seats and then tore it back apart... the motor's heading to TA after New Years for some steroids so I haven't driven it yet. I went with 3.73's so it should run pretty good.
Keisler was a great kit and excellent company to work with. No regrets so far!
Good luck,
Jeff

And what about the clutch fork/slave cylinder bracket? Buick bellhousings dont have the bracket to mount the slave cylinder on? How did you fix that, made a bracket that mounts on the crossmember??Or does kessleir have one in their kit??

I hope this helps...
My car was already a 4 speed so I didn't need to add any clutch linkage or pedals. I stayed with the factory clutch linkage rather than coverting to a hydraulic design. It sounds like you're converting from an auto.
Here's a link to Keisler's website that probably has the complete kit you need. Although mine was a bit less complex, it wasn't missing a single thing that was needed. I have no doubt this one would be the same.
Check it out.... http://www.keislerauto.com/index.php?/1964-1967-chevelle/gto-5-speed-perfectfit-kit-tko-600.82-auto.html
Good luck,
Jeff

Yeah, my car is an automatic on the floor.
Keisler does not seem to include a Buick bellhousing and they do not seem to have the clutch pedal bracket too.....anyway, I have not contact them yet as im not ready ($$$) financialy right now...

Hey. How does the column lock and reverse switch work with the TKO since it does not have the same linkage as the muncie???
