The car was delivered on Saturday and pictures do not do it justice. Nick Serwo at Ivyland Collision in Warminster PA did an EXCELLENT job in paint and assembly. He is a perfectionist and a pleasure to deal with.

The car was in total dire straights when it was delivered to Nicks shop. The NOS fenders had to be separated and re-welded as they were manufactured wrong, the NOS core support had manufacturing flaws with needed time for repairs, the driver’s door was riddled with bullet holes and bondo and was replaced and the inner quarter wheel house on both sides were replaced. The wheel opening on the passenger side was replaced and trunk lid was also replaced. The driver’s side quarter was pushed in 2” due to previous damage and had to be pulled out to ensure the panels all lined up. A majority of previous shoddy work was uncovered (after) being worked in another shop here in Jersey. The convertible top frame was a total mess and meticulously restored. Now it’s extremely well detailed and not a wrinkle in the convertible roof.

The sentimental value of this car alone was worth the wait. This is the very car I drove around Fort Polk Louisiana in 1984 in the Army terrorizing the streets and having one hell of a blast. More to follow as I spend some time getting the car road worthy.:3gears:

that looks great mike, is it a 350 or 455?

John,

It's a 71 455 engine built to level 3 specs by Stage One and the heads, intake and exhaust manifolds are ported by Gessler. The heads were milled to stage 1 Specs and Dave Kliener of GS Enterprises sold me the entire 4 speed set-up to include a brand new transmission and the 5335 shifter handle. The level of detail is very nice although with the insane amount of money spent, it should be expected. I have either replaced, plated, repainted, powder coated and cleared almost every individual part on this car. I hang out with a small motor head crowd with cars ranging from Mopars to Chevys and to watch them drool over this car is amusing. The real test is with the Buick crowd considering I'm the only one to own one. The attempt was to get this as close to factory as I could with the original paint, interior and top colors.

How did gardner exhaust work out for you. Were you happen with the sound, finish and fit?

George,

The Gardner exhaust worked out well. I had to take the N25 pipes over to a friend and have the ends reduced about an 1/8'" to accomadate the original N25 tips. The fit and finish is by far second to none.

DL,

I guess I'll be entering the car in the convertible class. I'm on the right track to enter the car in the concourse class although getting everything correct is a challenge and don't know if I have the energy to do it. It's been a long road to get this car to this point.

Board member Carl Unitis came in from Michagan to help assemble the car today and the interior is almost completed. I would hope to have the dash wired tomorrow and get this car ready to fire up. There is still work to do.
