B-France-Goodrich!!! Please help...

Had my heart set on some BFG Radial TA 245/60 R15's. Just heard they are French owned. I would like to buy American but the BFG's are such a Muscle car standard look/feel/performance. I can't make sense of the Goodyear web site. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

You might check out the Cooper Cobras, http://www.coopertires.com/tire_cooper/passenger.asp?id=11 (I think that will work)- they have a 245/60/15.

I couldn't find a Goodyear tire in that size, but the Tire Rack lists Dunlop GT Qualifiers (Japanese, I think) and the Yokohama "Avid" (?) in that size as well.

If you are looking for a Drag Radial, you can try the Nittos- I have heard a lot of people that have good luck with them too.

If your a Sams Club member I saw the Dunlop Qualifer's in our local store. They will order other sizes than what they have in the store.

Don't forget, if they dont have it in stock, it dosen't mean they can't get it! Talk with the tire person, I'm sure they will order them for you ! :TU: (Sam's or Costco)

After going through qualifiers in 6 months, I'm happy with my 8 month old BFGs and their near new tread :grin:

I don't care who made it; afterall, I do have a Honda :o

Check with the Sam's club website, print out the prices and then go to sears. They will match the price. Also get a total cost price (installation, balancing, etc). I went today and they beat the total cost from Sam's by $10.

T/A radials from BFG are pretty darn good tires and don't cost a mint. So what if they are from France? Don't let any one tell you that buying a tire made by a company controlled by a French concern is unpatriotic! THEY are unpatriotic for telling you what you can/can't or should/shouldn't do! I am so sick and tired of people who can't tell the difference between "patriotism" and "fascism".

Ya know Chris, I'm not sure how this thread surfaced again, it's from about 6 months ago but, you are right and I am going to buy whatever the heck I want. After finding out how multi national everything is, any boycott of any product will most definately affect local buisness more than foriegn anyway. That said, if I'm pissed at a backstabbing wuss country like France, then I simply won't go there on vacation. Tell you the truth, I'd rather stay in the North American continent anyway. Between the U.S., Mexico and Canada, there are plenty of great places to go, most of which are within Buick distance to boot. As far as tires go, I like black walls out anyway, so I dont give a crap if they say "TA" on the side or not. It's my fault it came up again, I have very rarely used this forum, but I had a tire question, and I noticed your thread. I just had to throw my 2 cents in. I really like the T/A radials, but you might not like the white letters peeking out on the inside. I tried the T/As because they had the largest contact patch available even vaguely within my price range, and a Car and Driver test in the early '90s (when i was in the market for a performance type tire first) rated them best in the rain, so I gave them a try. I used to use Michelins, but they are too soft a compound for my taste. I went with the BFG rubber and was very pleased, so I stuck with them. Personally I like how they look, billboards out, but that's strictly a matter of taste.
