How does the V8Classified Ads & Auctions section work? More specifically the Parts for Sale section? Is this just like the other Parts for Sale Area. Reason I'm asking is there was some parts for sale that I was interested in and I asked a couple questions about them. Someone else has also asked questions, but I don't see any reply's:Do No: I saw another add that had a question with no answer too. Is this just that the seller hasn't replied or should I be asking questions in another way?
Thanks
Matt

Sounds like the sellers have simply not checked in on their ads.

I think it is a valid question. I have questions on my post, but I don't see any way to respond other than look up the user and send a pm, which I have done.

I really can't offer any advice on functionality of the classifieds section. I never use it and do not moderate it. I think JW planned on watching that section when it was added to the board, maybe he can help.

At the bottom of the ad is a question section. Just enter you question or answer in the field marked message. I should change the word question to question/response.
I'll make that change.

This thread brings up the question as to why we need these sections? Personally, I never look there. I only check the parts for sale/cars for sale sections. Is it just me or do others regularly look here?

I thought this section were put into place to help support this board and I'm 110% for that as this is a great place with a wealth of information. I believe there is some fee for placing ads in this section. I've just never had any luck when I've shown interest in something.

For some reason I have never got used to looking in that section and forget to check it for weeks at a time. I think its a great idea but could use some sort of larger banner or perhaps a move to somehow get more views.

I'm not aware of any fees for listing in the Classifieds section. One difference there is that you can run an auction also, instead of a set selling price.

It was put in place a year or so ago to offset the cost of running the board. At that time donations were down and we were not making our budget to run the site. Since then, members stepped up and donated to meet the costs.
At first we charged very small fees to buy credits for ads. Now this service is free and will continue to be free as long as the board meets it financial responsibilities. (see supporters section for details).
I would suggest everyone to use this feature, especially the auction function.
I agree, I should make some kind of bigger button or icon to make it stand out more. Let me know if this is something you guys would want.
