I am restoring a 65 Skylark GS and am wondering if anyone can tell me what the largest wheel size that will fit front and rear. I am looking to go with Torq Thrust wheels by AR and would like to put 18" - 20" wheels on it but don't want to do any modifications to make them fit. Is this feasible? If so what Diameter and Width would work and what is the offset/bolt pattern. Thanks in advance to anyone that might have this information.

Beautiful car......how is the clearance now? I suppose I could go with bigger wheels so long as I reduced tire size with each inch bigger.

What tire size are you running front and rear?

I forget the actual size but they are only 26.5 in tall. Overall fronts are 9.5 in wide and the rears are 11.5 in wide.

I wouldn't try to go any wider or taller. I only rub the fronts if I brake real hard while turning a corner. I also have a close ratio(2.6 turns) steering box. NPD for a 65 chevelle.

in my avatar is my 65 with centerlines. 17x7 4.5 b.s. up front w/ 225 45 17. 17x8, 5" b.s. rear with 255 45 17. this is with out any body modifications. don't think i could go any bigger and these are just about perfectly centered in the wheel wells, no rubbing though.
