points!!!

I put in a pertronix I and a flamethrower coil on my gs and it has been a headache. So I decided to go back to points, in the process I installed a 12v accel coil in using a new power wire coming from the fuse box, the car still runs like crap, but if I hook up my regular coil with the points it runs good.

This is where ignorance kicks in!!!

are there 12v points because the stock system uses a resistor wire that drops the voltage to about 6v and my stock coil says 6v on it?

any ideas.
