I take it you've never been to the GS Nats? Get your reservations NOW, before you have to stay over 50 miles away. That is also the same weekend that WKU graduation. Most places want minimum of 3 night stay for that weekend.
Recommend the Corvette assembly plant tour, Get an early in the day (9:00) reservation for that too. Then take in the Corvette Museum, and pick on them. Good cheap auto based entertainment to take up a good morning; not much except test and tune on tueday wednesday thursday. Friday SHOW and RACE; Saturday RACING!
Above all else besure to bring camera and LOTS of film or storage capacity for digital

Thanks . Is there camping on the raceway grounds? I am bringing my car in an enclosed trailer with a pit bike for access. I may just get a hotel room for backup against any weather issues. I will look on the website for any further accomodations. Upstaged in Michigan.

Upstaged in Michigan. There is camping next to the raceway grounds as well as an amusement park, swimming pool, roller coaster, etc. The Corvette museum is just 10 minutes away and they are finishing an addition to it as I speak (type).

When the GS Nationals gets closer to the start date I'll give details of where everyone can buy race gas (110), for about $2.50 a gallon cheaper then its for sale at the track or Scotty's Speed & Custom.:)

How are the campgrounds @ Beach Bend? Are they within walking / driving distance to the show arenas? I do not want to have to setup "camp" everyday if I can avoid it. Thanks, Upstaged in Michigan

It looks like the campgrounds for us. When they "lock down" the pits, I hope I can get my Stage 1 back to the campsite and / or trailer at night ? I am leery about leaving my stuff very far away overnight. I see that they only take campsites on a daily basis, no reservations. Anyone in BG that could reserve one (or two) for me on Monday or Tuesday? I will gladly square up with them during the week. I will be driving from Michigan down I-65 through Indiana. How about a convoy of sorts just in case . Regards, Upstaged in Michigan.
