Questions: Distributor/intake....etc...

:confused: I was wondering if you would happen to know, since I will be exchanging the 350 for a 455 if the 455 with a TA SP-1 intake and a Rochester Quadrejet carb or as a second choice a Edelbrock EPS 800 will still allow me to use the stock air cleaner to be able to utilize the ram air system as it was meant to be on the 69?
Another question: For the best bang for my $$, what's the best choice for hedders for me to get for the 455 in the 69?
I am trying yo get a pair that will fit without hammering. Ones that are made for my set-up.
I appreciate your advice, if you have any for me!
Also...will there be any problems with the SP-1 and choosing a distributor that'll fit?

You have to order the Edelbrock Performer if you want the ram to hook up. TA sell the Performer too, or go to Edelbrock's site and see if there is a dealer down there (but I doubt it). I got mine from Summitt.

As for the distributor and use the ram, I suggest you send a standard points dist to the ignitionman for a HEI or MSD conversion. He did many, many dist's for people on this board, great work. Also happens to be the cheapest way to go. He did HEI for me at $175, & he paid return shipping (but that won't be the case for you down there). I would expect you to be out $200, + Dave will tell what is the best coil to buy, about $30 at Auto Zone. All the parts Dave uses you can buy at any chain too, so you don't have to worry if it breaks down sometime!

Here is a picture of mine, you can't tell it is not point without removing the cap (well, unless you notice the black module located on the bottom of the base on the outside).
