1955 buick special
What size do you ream the bushings to. We have one that is 1/2 a thou. too small and apparently that is too tight for the kingpin to move within the bushing. We also have a reamer that is about .005 bigger than the kingpin. Should a kingpin have to be pressed in or should i be able to push it in with some friction?
thanx

Chad,
Are the bushings plastic or the bronze design? Plastic should not require reaming. The bronze are custom fit and need to be reamed. It sounds like the reamer you have is too large. There are many different sizes and you need the right one. When reamed properly the pin should be hard to push in by hand and not loose. Do not press or hammer the pin in as this is too tight. Check this link.
