I was away this weekend when my brothers beloved collie mix was killed. "Angel" was a wonderful animal who rarely misbehaved. Any dog (or other) owner will tell you that these are like children to us. She was eight years old and seemed to have eight more in her. My brother was playing tennis ball with her and he bounced one onto the street. Rarely would she go on the road, but this time she went. An old man in a truck had no time to react and hit her. My brother held her as she took her last two breaths. He and his wife are devistated. Worse yet, my bro feels he caused it and has to live with that image.
If any of you would pray for them I'd appreciate it.
I wish there was solid answers about are pets. Some say there are no souls, others say there are places in heaven. I myself have tried to use scripture as a guide, but the subject doesnt seem to be covered. I know we accept Christ for salvation and we humans are the only recipiant of his promises. But do you think animals cross over also? Or are they here to teach us about love, responsibility to Gods creation, or death? I can't help but feel that Angels ubruptly shortened life was part of a greater plan. I guess we really won't know for sure till we are in heaven. I know God will look favorably on how they treated the animal that God intrusted them. And that is a good thing. Ultimately all we have, whether its stuff or family members, is Gods. We are custodians of his wonderful creations. Thanks for your prayers.
