George, that looks like something that has been added on. I don't think it is supposed to cover that bolt hole. Looks like mine except for that.

George, I have no idea what that is. But it should be nice and round there where the starter bolts on.
I'm saving for paint now, and hope to have it painted this fall or winter. I have no plans to sell right now, and I have been taking a mountain of guff from my circle of friends in the hobby about getting it done. Not to mention I have a neighbor who is restoring (restifying?) a 64 GTO, and he has laid out the "who will finish first" challenge.
Someone interested?

Absolutely. I'll try and do it later today, I owe some others guys on V8Buick some info and pictures that are WAY overdue, so that'll give me the push I need to get out there.

George,
I have attached a picture of a 65-66 GS bell-housing and a close-up of the starter area. This is just in case Mark did not get around to it, or if anyone else would be interested in what they look like. Plus they are just plain wicked!
Take Care - Cheryl :)

I think I saw that bellhousing on ebay. The only thing I could think of, is that someone tried to modify the way the clutch is actuated, as the 65-66 has some real unique monkey motion for clutch linkage.
