Has anyone ever "swaped" in a newer (Caprice, roadmaster, s-10 ect.) frame+suspention under a 55-57 Buick Special/Century? If so what autos can I use? I know most of you guys hate this but I want to use a late model chevy 350/700r4 with a/c. Power steering, with modern suspention. Reason being that this will be a daily driver, and its kind of hard to find a quick part for a 322 nailhead. I dont care alot about "origional" since it has been rearended in the past. Any helpful info would be nice. Thanks! (FYI My car is a 55 2 door post)

Why don't you just buy a late model Chevy or maybe a Ford?

About 10 years ago, I took two 1989 state police car chassis and spiced them together to put a 1955Roadmaster body on them, Buick 455 with a Turbo 400 married to the Posi from the troop car. The brakes, lines, rotors, suspension was all Chevy.

In my opinion, it might be easier to use the stock frame and update the suspension/driveline. I am pretty sure FatMan offers a Must II fornt end kit, then you just need to get a rear hung in there. Next swap the engine/trans out etc...
It is just my opinion, but doing a full frame swap isn't necessarily worth the effort if everything else is ok.

71-72 Buick Estate Wagon is the swap I saw for a 57 Super. The Owner kept the 455 and the accessories. He said it fit like a glove.
