GS Hood Issues

Here is what I got, I saw a 70-72 GS hood with a minor "pimple" dent on the hood and saw that the hood bolt was the reason. GM uses pointed bolts to hold the hood to the hinges so before installing your hood bolt grind off some of the point and check the length of the bolts as well, AL.

GM never used pointed bolts...those are body bolts.....hood bolts have a flat bottom....some knucklehead used the wrong ones.

Most of the time I have seen the pointed bolts we in the rear lower fender area and in the inner fender to firewall bracket area. Never in a hood unless it was put there by someone. George is right.

Okay, thanks for the follow up! I can say I just put the bolts I took out on a hood re-install, so some one install the incorrect ones :spank: , Thanks, AL.
