Buick 455 heads [Archive]

I have Buick Riv with a 455 cast #1231738. I also ran the head casting numbers and I found that one was a 1970 455 head casting #1231786 and the other one was a 1969 head casting #1231109.I believe this would be originally off of a 400 or 430. I was wanting to know if this right. And if it is ok to swap this head onto 1970 Buick engine.

the 69 head has a smaller chamber, but if you decked the 455 so they matched I guess it would work. Ask the Jim's, they can answer anything worth asking.

On the main page, go to the top and click members. It'll bring up a list of id's(names). Look for buick535 for Jim Burek and Jim Weise for Jim Weise. Click on either one and you'll see a spot to send them an email and another to send them a PM (Private Message). Or you can wait til they're online. You can tell on the main page at the top where "Current Active Users" is.
