Ray,

Nice pics..... that's what it is all about. When I finish my clone I hope looks 1/10 as good as yours.

Don, that's a very nice clone! A clean clone can be appreciated, especially if you're not trying to pass it off as a real one. Post some more pictures!

Want that picture resized to use as your avatar? (the picture under your name)

Hey Chris, you must have read my mind. I was hoping to figure out a way to resize the picture. Can you do it?

Thanks....

I'm a big fan (as you can tell by visiting my site) of close up details in small shots.

Here's my version of a possible avatar for you Don.

Thnx Bud. Bud, i have 15x7 rims on front with 225-70-15s and 15x8 rims out back with 275-60-15s! They make the car sit nicely and dont look overly huge!

Thnx for the info, I have 14" Ralleys now but it looks like a fella needs the 15's to fll the wheel wells properly.

Just letting people know that saw this car for sale that ive decided to keep my GSX. My better judgement and alot of ribbing from friends and fellow buick owners has made me think better of it. Besides if i sell it and decide i want one 5-10 years from now...ill probably have to fork over 3 times as much cash to own it!

That's good news Ray, all of the GSXs for sale on here recently was scaring me! . Glad to see you decided to keep it. :beer

Glad to see you decided to keep it. :beer Yeah Chris i agree...i havent seen any GSXs for sale for several months, then i put mine up for sale and all of a sudden theres 3 others for sale within a few weeks time! None of them were factory stage-1s though and all around the same price range-$30 to 35k...i thought mine was a good deal for $37...oh well i could never figure out why GSXs were so low priced and hard to sell compared to other musclecars of the same genre. I always thought the GSX was one of the best looking and certainly one of the top performers out there. Go figure! :Do No:

I'll offer a possible explanation - while there is no denying a GSX's brutal strength wrapped in a classic body / paint treatment ....unless you've owned it for a long while (meaning you didnt pay 30-50K for it) MOST people cant afford to enjoy these cars the same way they would a fixed up GS or clone-Skylark, and by that I mean....

Going Fast with Class....punishing our rides by enjoying the repeated exercise of out right foot

For Example....I have a '69 Skylark that is about as clean and original as they get (Bought it with 46,000 miles on it from a heated garage). Its a Skylark....Nobody wants it for $5K and its got a gorgous recent paint job on it !!

So.....you take that Sky (substitute 70-72 for GSX Clones) and Throw a GS hood on it, Rip out the 350-2 barrel and put one of J.W's $8-10K Killer street motors in it....say another 2-3K for stout tranny / rear etceteras

......and for half of what you were asking for the GSX, I have a car that LOOKS the same (as a GS / GSX) , yet I dont have to worry about beating the living snot out of it - or driving it everyday. Its not the holy grail....and doesn't have to be treated as such.

Jay Leno has said he likes taking 100% cars and driving them down to 80%......and then restoring them back to 100%. Not all of us have the Wallets to do this.

Hypothetically ....I could have sold my '69 Convert for, say, 20K, my Sky for 4K, My Turbo Regal Limited for 9K, and bought your car.....

.....and be afraid to take it out.....afraid to rack up the miles and UnRestore it.....afraid to walk away from it at car shows/cruise nights. I drive my cars....ALOT.... and treat them like cars, not like precious jewels.

Im not saying people dont enjoy their fully restored GSX's / Stage1's or other high$$$ pieces....but the majority dont. The Majority checks the long range forecast before ever opening up the garage door - heaven forbid a drop should fall on it.

Just my impressions......No Flames intended anywhere

Alan,

I agree with the points you made completely... I would love to own a high $ GSX but two things stop me. 1. I don't have that type of extra cash around 2. I also would be afraid to drive it. Heck, I am very nervous about driving my #'s matching '68 GS400 Convertible...and its not worth 1/3 the price of a fully restored GSX.... ( or a fully restored chevy mailbu for that matter!!)

I think this GSX is worth every penny... I wish I could afford it..

Yeah guys, my car is a high dollar original..but i drive it any chance i get. This car doesnt sit in a garage collecting dust.

Automobiles are meant to be driven and enjoyed :beer

If you want a museum piece, get a 1:18 diecast model.
