G'day again all
The under seat heater motor melted a few months back. Since then we've been searching for either a replacement motor or someone to fix the broken one. We've come up with zip in both areas. Can anyone point us in the right direction?
Cheers

The March 2009 Hot Rod Deluxe just did a piece on these (page 84 )
They used a local Carquest part listed under 60-63 Chevy truck standard heater motor for a perfect fit (12v). Since it was in stock, it probably fits many applications, just watch the 6/12 volt thing. Buick switched to 12V in 53, though specials still used the 6v. Yours s/b the 12. Hope this helps...:)

Hi - I am Keith (Rip) Rohring. The seat heater cord is wrapped in a circle and taped up under the passenger front seat on my 53 SUPER model 52.
I'd be interested in any progress you make on a replacement or repair of your unit. They must be identical - mine IS the NEW 12v system ;-)))
If you can keep me on your list to let me know what happens ? :Comp:
And Thanks, as always. . . Rip.

Glad to help!!! It'll fit the 53 also. Sorry - no heater cores available that I know of - but used are plentiful...find a good one and have the tanks and tubes re-soldered. FYI - Dont let any one sell you the 64/65 motor - it has a flange on it that won't work...

I'll be in a Maryland yard next week that has a '55 4dr. I will be removing the power seat track and while there I will see if it has the underseat heater.

g'day allan update. We ended up using a HQ Holden fan motor - after a bit of mucking around/ lathing etc. And so far so good! So any Aussie Buick owners, give it a go :)
