Well, barring anyone here replying with some for sale, your best bet is ebay. No one repros the 16" base, only 12". And back plates? Sorry, no. The backing plates can be re-chromed, however.

I bought a pair of black 16" repro armrest pads about a year or so ago, on ebay, and they would work ok, but I'm not using them. I may have resold them, I would have to dig to see for sure. Instead, I found a nice set of used complete bases w/pads. And the pads themselves can be re-covered by an upholstery shop, I've been told, but I have not tried that yet. Let me know if you might be interested in the repro pads, and I'll see if I still have them.

I believe that Jim Weise has them rechromed for sale.

I will have some in the future, as soon as I "interview" another plating outfit that can do the work to my spec..

I'm looking..

is the '69 baseplate the same as the 70-72? I know the '68 is not..

Dr Weise:

I believe 69 and 70 are the same. I thought Postons carried the long base but no long back plate but I could be mistaken. As a mentioned one of my new long back plates you had plated was dropped and broken by a friend helping during install. So I may need another 16 inch core myself.

I have a pr of 16 inch bases--see photo--some scratches, no chalking- passenger pad is good but driver side has some tears. Yes the pads can be redone by an upholster(I had my 12 inch pads done) If interested how does $25 plus sh sound?

flynbuick, at this time I do not-the ones I had were all cracked. I am going yarding this weekend if it dont rain and there are a few 69, 70's Buicks and Olds there. I will see if there are any decent ones that are worth replating and will let you know.

Yep they will be ok. When I dye stuff like this I use SEM products and it works real well. I have a white interior and I used SEM on my armrests and bucket seat backs and they are holding up real well. Let me have your zip and I will figure out sh.

Sounds good. If it ever stops raining here, I will get out yarding and see what I can come up with.

I went to Virginia today with a buddy to pick up a 73 455 TA Superduty. It rained the whole time we were down there, Just cant win.

I have you on the list with
flynbuick for a set of those.

Thanks

Nick, glad you you like them. As for the SEM, that is the color that you want for your interior "Landau Black" sorry I couldn't find the cap for it.

Good luck, you have a nice looking Buick there.
