Reciently changed Pressure power steering hose on my 55 buick. The new hose I had made is just one size hose where the old one was was two size hoses put together. The new hose makes the power steering whistle. Does anyone know where I can buy the correct hose have tried Car,s Inc theirs is like the one I had made he said they heard of this problem but has no solution. Thanks Jim

Take your old hose to an indrustrial hydraulic shop and ask them to make one exactly like the one you have provided. They will understand why and if you happen to be a purist, they may even match up the coupling nuts as original. I did this on my first restoration of a '57 in 1990 when there no reproductions on the market.

There is a way to solve this problem. The 84 Audi had a long piece that went in the power sterring hose that looked like a speedometer cable, but I think it was made of plastic. It just went inside the hose. It kept the fluid from pluseing and created a smooth flow. If you know an Audi mechanic I am sure he would know more than I. I just happened to run into it several years ago when I replaced the hose on a 1984 Audi 5000. But this should solve the problem.
