OBD 1 Question 84 Century 3.0 E code

Correct me if I'm wrong but if I have a speedometer cable not turning wouldn't the set a "check engine light for a code 24? And if I disconnect the MAP sensor and unhook the vacuum hose wouldn't that set a a code and set the "check engine" light? I know in some cases the light will note set unless, the engine is warmed up and driven a set distance, any thoughts? AL.

That part is fine but thought it was odd that the ECM not getting a VSS signal and not setting a code. Then unhooked the MAP sensor and still wouldn't sat a light or code. It would set a code and light on removale of the TPS, AL.

I did fid the problem, there was an open between the ECM terminal 16 and the VSS "B" terminal (VSS output signal buffer signal). Now the the TCC works fine, AL.
