69 skylark custom questions

Hey guys i just started to work on my 69 skylark and i have a few questions. Hopefully this is the right place to ask if not let me know. Here are my questions
1. What is a good degreaser to clean my engine. I started scraping the gunk and **** off which was about 5 inches thick no lie. I hear pine sole works good but not sure maybe there is something better.
2. Where can i get an accelerater cable? I noticed some of it has frayed off and its very lose.
3. What is the original color for the valve covers for this year? My left side is red and my right side is blue. The right side has a breathing hole but it is capped off.
4. Where can i get a heat riser? I noticed mine is frozen is there an easy way to fix it or is it just easier to buy a new one.

I warm up the engine and then use Easy Off oven degreaser, I then take luke warm water and sponge if off (Simple Green works well also)


2. Where can i get an accelerater cable? I noticed some of it has frayed off and its very lose.
I order most of my parts for the Buicks from www.oldbuickparts.com


3. What is the original color for the valve covers for this year? My left side is red and my right side is blue. The right side has a breathing hole but it is capped off.
The correct color is Buick Red, the PVC should be in the right cover


4. Where can i get a heat riser? I noticed mine is frozen is there an easy way to fix it or is it just easier to buy a new one.
Joe, try taking it apart and freeing it, if not they can be found. Good luck and Welcome

I was just looking at that color, it is the same as my 64 riv.... coral mist....the first thing out of everybodys mouth at car shows is ''what color is that''..... that is only the 3rd car that I have seen painted that color other than mine....nice ride....
