Another Special in The Netherlands: 'Genesis'

Hey!

2 weeks ago I bought my very first car, a '55 Buick Special Sedan. It needs a proper restauration as you can read on her own blog:

I'll update the blog at least every sunday, because I can only work on the car on saturdays (for reason you can read on the blog), and every now and then I'll update you guys via this thread. If I'm correct, it is possible to subscribe to my blog, so you'll receive an email every time there's a new post.

As I posted on the blog, I'm going to do a full body-off... hopefully I'll have the chassis and carroserie (body and frame) done before end of summer...

I don't think so :) Usually it takes much longer than You would expect (and muuuuuch more money :Brow:). But keep to the plan and do what has to be done :)

As for Your holes in the floor - i will be cutting my floor out, but that will be no sooner than in summer. It is not in very good shape, but maybe better than yours? At least it is in Europe :) Let me know if You are interested.

I do know that Im a (bit) optimistic, but hey, who isn't when they just bought their first car?
About the floor, I will also cut most of it out, and weld new floor-pans (homemade or bought) in. Are you going to make your own?

I will set Buick body shell on Chevrolet Caprice frame and partially floor. Rest of the floor will be custom made, as the frame needs to be longer.

If this is Your first car - well, it will be hard :) I don't know if i would be able to undertake such a big project without formerly learned knowledge. But don't worry - everybody starts somewhere :)

I know it will be a tough job at times, but I do have a great interest in cars for years now, I just don't have the experience yet. We'll see how things work out :)

It is great to see these beautiful cars restored all over the world. My dad gave me my first Buick when I was about 11, it is a '56 Century. Just keep your eyes on the prize while you are doing it.
