I think I've got this mostly decoded but I'm still confused on the specifics of the trim and paint codes. If someone could help, thanks in advance!

Vin: 434370Z12XXXX

Data Plate:

ST 70-43437 BF 01285 BDY
TR 175 B80 34 A PNT
06D 516757 010111

This is what I have so far:

4 = Buick
34 = GS350
37 = 2 Door Hardtop Coupe
0 = 1970
Z = Fremont, CA
Production Number: 12XXXX

Data Plate
70 = 1970
4 = Buick
34 = GS350
37 = 2 Door Hardtop Coupe
BF = Fremont, CA
01285 = Fisher Body code

175 = Vinyl, Pearl White :confused:
B80 = Bench Seat :confused:
34 = Aqua Mist Poly
A = White Vinyl Roof :confused: or stripe color?

06D = June, 4th week

P.S. Also is there anyway to figure out if it came with the deluxe or regular interior? My understanding is that's dependant on the front seat style. :Do No:

"A" is white vinyl roof. Can't help you on the others off the top of my head.

175 Pearl White, Notch back bench (you get the nice arm rest)!

A is white V top.

I think that pearl is one sweet color!:TU:

I have the Sandalwood int in mine. (which is a bench "no notch back).:Brow:

The B80 is the UPC for 'Drip Rail Moldings', which, for some reason, Freemont felt compelled to put on all the cowl tags :Do No:

I also believe the 175 was a deluxe interior. I know all convertibles received the deluxe interior, and if you look at the 1970 order form Here (http://mywebpages.comcast.net/455stage1/BuickGS/1970_order_form.jpg), 175 was available for all Gran Sport models.

Hey, thanks a bunch for the info guys, that helps a bunch! :cool: This is unfortunately the only info I have on the car as I don't have a build sheet, and believe me I looked for one.

Hey Ralph -

Sloan may be able to document your car. Cost is $20 for a VIN research. Contact them at their website (http://www.sloanmuseum.com/index.html) or give them a call at (810) 237-3450.

I've heard they have the entire model year for Freemont CA built cars. Please post back if they have the build sheet information for your car. If not, Wayne Roberts would have the information, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there...

Thanks!
