Gas Tank Sending unit install question

I meant pick up - not sending unit


So I installed Rob mc 8an pick up in my new tank. First time doing this.


Put rubber gasket on and locked down the cam with screwdriver and hammer (light taps)

Is that all???

I was figuring on a more elaborate design to keep gas from leaking.

That is all there is to it, believe it or not- do NOT put any gasket sealing material or silicone on that rubber O-ring! That cam lock system actually puts quite a lot of pressure on that O-ring to seal it.

Of course, I am assuming that you installed a new O-ring? If not, you can get one that is about the right size from most hardware stores that have a good selection of larger O-rings. Not a good practice to re-use the O-ring that came out of there.

Thanks - yes its a new tank and new 8an pickup - new gaasket.

Its all in and installed on the car so we will see if it leaks:pray: :pray:
