Installing turn signal cam.. need help!

I'm replacing my turn signal cam on my tilt steering wheel 67 gs 400 and I need some tips on doing it.. I have a NOS Delco Remy signal switch.. I removed steering wheel and old signal cam..I was reading my manual and they instruct to remove outside cover.. my question is how do I snake in the ribbon with the that big that big molded plug harness down the column to connector under dash?? any suggestion or possible phone help??

I did it to my Riv just a few months back. after pulling everything appart and then finding out the routing for the wire ribbon was welded together I carefully with a very small screw driver released the clips that held each wire in the plug on the end of the ribbon making notes on where each went according to the numbers molded into the plug. after that I fished the wires down the tube and pushed the wires back into the plug. Presto! any questions fell free to ask.

Not clear if this is what you're looking for but when working with wiring harnesses I always tape a length of mechanics wire firmly to the end of the old harness before I remove it. Pull the old harness through but not so far that the wire pulls through, then tape the new harness to the wire and use it to guide the new one back through.

A few years back, that's how I did mine too !
It was the best way to snake the wire ribbon down the colume in its proper position. :TU:

Thanks guys.. yes the ribbon with the molded half moon plug was the concern to snake down the neck of the steering column.. I going to try to disconnect each wire from plug.. any more tips out there please post...
