Hey Adam,
All you need now is to get your car doing the three-wheel motion with some Trick Daddy playing in the background:laugh: Seriously, that's a nice car you got. I had a '70 Lesabre which my brother has now and the females just loved that car. I had the car lowered 2" and it looks really sweet. The black guys also came to me about it so much that I started feeling "pretty fly for a white guy". LOL! They must've thought I was pimp daddy or something. There was nothing special done to the car except for the lowering springs, It had the ralleye wheels on it too. It's white with a black top and interior. I would've loved to get airbags on it to get that slammed look. Those cars look so cool customized that way with the larger wheels. I'll have to get a picture of it for you guy's and ladies :)

Hahah thanks guys!! BTW Ivan thanks so much for fixin my pic.. looks awesome! it's even got my name on it!!!
Ok some of you have asked for the story of my ride and how i got to be interested in cars. Here it goes and i will try and make it as short and painless for you as possible....
Ok I was raised around cars. My grandfather collects them.. has around 11 including a 66 electra 225... two 57 buick's etc. My dad was a mechanic. fastforward 15 years when i start looking for my first car. i was stuck on gettin a 68 mustang fastback 68 charger or somthing xtremly rare you dont see everyday. so the guy im dating at the time had already "learned" me how to do wrench work on my car etc.. and he finds this brite @$$ yella car on auto trader. i was like well dude...what about that vette stingray and that 442 and that camaro... well i decided to go look at it and when i saw that beautiful tail end sittin itself up in the air i got a tear in me eye and i had to have it!!! I got it from a really nice guy who was in the ARMY. he trailered it back from washington state to bullard tx. (and when we bought it((BEST $2200.00 that was ever spent on me.. only time that much was ever spent on me lol)) my friend was there to trailer it back (two hours from Bullard to Houston after we had gone up and back to see it once already) for me cuz of bad breaks no insurance etc..) the guy he got it from was not well liked and i still have the key marks on the side of the car to prove it. ...guy i got it from ran into the passenger side door a week before he sold it to me:ball: also he didnt have a big enough airfilter on the carb (i guess) so there is a burnt spot on the top of the hood:ball: but the interior is nice... tan ( i have to get black) but nice, i dont have a compressor for AC, I have a 350 but i have a nice 400 turbo trans with a shift kit ready for a 455 to set it off nicely. Someone just stole my passenger side sports mirror. there is some cancerous rust. I need a new hood with scoops. I need a radio, dash, tires, minor things.. bumpers, Paint etc.. that s about it i belive oh yea and a new carb. I have a Carter AFB and I've heard alot obout Holley street avengers? ANY comments on this?
One last thang... That is my friends (the one that found my car) dad's Chevelle. It's a sweet ride!! That is also his '86 GN. He has three... an '85 (dads).. an'86(((the one pictured))his moms and sisters)... and an '87 (HIS!)
And Yes... we usually sit around the table after a day of working on either one of these smelling of either carb cleaner, oil, or gasoline and fastorange as we grab the steak with permadirted grubby coon fingers
Hope you can read it it kinda gets a lil complicated with all the (((())))))))(((((())))) but (most of)ya ll are smart:laugh: soo

Melinda,
Thanks for the reply to the PM about Houston. Memories! So Westheimer is still the place? Cool! About your carburators, the AFB is supposed to be a reliable unit, the Holley is the most tunable. Don't rule out a quadrajet. When they work right they are great! You mention stuff you need. Consider a post under the parts wanted section of the board. Its worked for me.

I been caring for my cars since 1975. Have used Dupont, 3M, Meguiars, Mothers, Turtle Wax, Blue Corral, Zymol, Gliptone, GM, Scotchguard, among other off the shelf car care products. I love the Zaino brand stuff. My Z is black. Bought it used. Zaino'd the swirls right out of it. It is so easy to apply and remove, by far the easiest of what is out there. It is also very easy to use wrong like in applying too much and not getting the opitcal affect desired. Best stuff on the market that most don't know about IMO.

There's nothing to be ashamed of here. You guys crack me up. Although I am disapointed you guys haven't persuaded Melinda to post more pics of herself and that awesome sweet ride.:brow: I wish I had that car. Melinda, if you only knew how lucky you are to have a nice southern car. Everything North of the Mason-Dixon line is rusted junk. I've had to go to Virginia and I've sent a freind to Cali to get myself some nice rides. Up north there are dudes that will sell you "good" fenders with the bottoms rusted out. The shear lack of good parts is the reason why I'm out of A-bodies. I hope to get one again, but I'll have to save my money. In this hobby, it is cheaper to save and buy a nice ride than it is to buy a pile of junk and restore it. An engine swap is simple compared to body work. I've got a nice running 70 SF block for the day I land a GS. Keep it real. :TU:
TuBBeD
04-22-2004, 04:32 PM
Hey Melinda, long time, no hear. How's everything going? Ratroaster you're right when it comes to parts. Living in PA everything is rusted unless it's been garaged and never taken out during the winters. That's one of the reasons I bought my car from the other side of the country. If the car is from PA and it doesn't have rust, usually it's full of bondo. For cost-wise, it's better to find something that's already done than restoring it yourself, but the majority of the cost is from sheetmetal replacement. I've decided to invest all my money in my GS cause once it's done, it's done. I don't think I'll work on another project for quite awhile with how these prices keep escalating. If I had a woman and invested this much money in her as I did my car, she'd look like a rap star with the amount of "bling-bling" dangling over her.

Hey,
You guys are right about the cars here in the Northeast....Thats why when I found my Wildcat is such great condition body wise I did some research and found out that car was from the southwest The farthest back I can trace it so far is AZ. but I think it was a calif. car first! down the San diego way......If I lived in AZ...I would be looking under every sage brush I could too find cars! i would be out in the desert in the MIDWEST....... I would be a happy man! :3gears:

I have my share of cancerous rust myself. The car was originally from Washington state and I dunno the whereabouts before then. Speaking of rust up north... well... down here near Galveston we have alot of salt near the coast and that will eat your car up too. It sucks when you are driving in the rain and turn a corner and the water from outside comes inside from the roof and the passengers get scared... actually it's kinda funny.... hahaha

Melinda,
It's been a long time sinse you've posted. What's new with the car? Get your 455 yet? Hood still scortched?
These things take a lot of time I know. I've owned my car a little over a year and I haven't made any progress on it to date. Although it has sat in storage for the most part, I still feel guilty I haven't made more progress.
