I started my rebuild before i read the last few post of other thread asking if i should hve it professionally built or not. Anyway i think i may have made the job more complicated than necessary. Not knowing enough about carbs when i removed it, i noticed the vent door wouldn't move freely and the secondary butterflies wouldn't open. Not knowing much at all i put the carb in evaporust thinking it would help :spank: Now that I armed myself with a rochester book from the library(for reference), the shop manual, a Gp sorensen kit and a PDF I found called "How to Overhaul and Tune your Carter AFB or
Edelbrock EPS Four Barrel Carburetor" I started with the teardown.
I realized now that the door wasn't stuck. Once I removed the choke arm the door moved freely and i know now that the secondaries wont move until the primaries reach a certain point?
So did I fraked up this job already by soaking it in evaporust?
The crap in the pics i think is from putting a dirty carb in the evaporust :spank: Can this carb be saved or is it a lost cause now?
This PDF is a great source to rebuild your carb if anyone needs or wants it. I'd be happy to post it but its like 10 pages long with clear pictures. Maybe it can be added to a reference section or something?sticky?
