Hello everyone, I'm new on this forum and looking for information on Buick engines to put in my range rover and over here in Holland no one knows anything. I found a Buick 300 and a 455 for sale but am wondering if these engines can bolt onto rover V8 style gearbox, bolt pattern wise, starter location and flywheel/clutch (interchangeable?). Anyone looked into it or had a go at it yet or ANY info that might help? Regards ,Thijs

My knowedge is very very limited and small. What I can tell you is that the Rover group purchased the 215 cubic inch V-8 engine that Buick used in the early 1960's. They then used it in all sorts of cars, trucks and the Range Rover/Land Rover. What I can not tell you is what the interchangability is of other Buick engines and or transmissions with a 215 V-8 or any of its English relatives.

IIRC, there is a wealth of engine modifications and parts for the Rover that exist in both the UK and Australia. There may be a source at the Solihull Society and others like them.
