I am working with someone that has a 71 GS convertible and has an "NCR"? sheet that shows the VIN, dealer name, body ID,option codes, etc. The problem is I cannot figure out the codes. Do these numbers mean anything to anyone?

This is a Flint Built car.

A picture of the document would look just like the numbers I posted except it would include the VIN and body ID :laugh:

I got a lot of 71 stuff from my 71 conv gs minus the build sheet, and evidently now a NCR sheet?:confused: I'd like to see a pict too. Or are you talking about a computer (punch type) card?:Do No:

Its really not called an NCR sheet (not sure where I got that from :Dou: ). Its just a sheet that has the dealer name/code, car vin, body ID and a list of options...thats it...

Just trying to figure out the option codes..

67 and 61 look like paint codes. Is it two tone? 551 looks like interior code. Just some guesses anyway.

They are called an NCR card because that is the company that made the machine(computer); National Cash Register. As far as the codes go it will take a lot of searching to find out what they are because from what I know all those recodrs were destroyed in the flint plant fire and flood disaster in 1971.

The loss of the records is the reason that Wayne Roberts has some documentation and some is at the Sloan Museum. Those two may be able to help you begin the search for information on decoding the cards.

I wish I had my original paperwork; but I dont.

I do not think those guys have any 71 info. It sucks us 71 guys are the red headed step children of the documentation world. We can only hope stuff was stored somewhere else and it pops up someday.
