So I just brought this 1972 Skylark home last week. Its a 1 family owned car with 66K original miles. The Seamist Green has been resprayed once but the paint "slid" causing it to be uneven and splotchy. Its on its way to the painter today to be stripped and redone in the original color. Ill probably leave the vinyl top off for now but may go back with a full black top if I can find the trim pieces. Rally wheels are soon to be ordered and Im weighing the options on rebuilding the 8.5" rear with a posi and 3.42 gears or going on and biting the bullet for a 12 bolt.

I also am in the process of disassembly of two 455 big blocks. The plan is a slightly hotter version of a Stage 1 motor. I have heads from a 73 that I plan on having Mike at AM&P working over. Still dont know the details of the build since it will have to wait until next year.

The plan is to get the paint, suspension, wheels and tires, weatherstriping, and the rear end done before summer so I can enjoy the car shows. The motor will take some time. Here is a link to the "Before" pictures:

Thanks to all on this site for your help and support! V8Buick.com is top notch!

Nice! Try WD-40 and 0000 steel wool to polish the rust on the back bumper. That might clean it up enough to make it serviceable for awhile.

Nice buy! Looks like you already have rally gauges and a clock:TU:

Do you have to get the 0000 steel wool at a paint supply store? Whats the difference between it and regular SOS pads?

You can get the 0000 steel wool at home depot. Its super fine and works well on chrome.
