Hi,

Finding a set of used wheels for sale in Australia is not easy.

Does anyone know the original rim size specifications for the 1957 Buicks ?
I want to have a set of steel wheels made, and I need to know the bolt pattern and rim width and backspace dimensions.

Any help would be appreciated.
cheers
tom

Tom here's what I have from my Buick books.

Series 40- 7.10 X 15 Series 50 & 60 - 7.60 X 15 Series 70 & 75 - 8.00 X 15

I will dig out an old rim tomorrow and get you more info, but winters setting in here and it's cold out.

My '57 in a Roadmaster Series 75 but the bolt spacing should be the same.

Here are some of the specs off my Roadmaster rim.

Rim width (where the tire actually seats) 6", to the outer most edges 7"

Center hole 3.375" = 8.5cm

5 mounting bolt holes are 4.75" center to center 12cm, each hole is .625" in dia.

Backspacing is 3.375"

Now the part that makes them alittle different. There are five more .375" or 1cm holes spaced between the larger holes. They are for a mounting pin. I will try to attach pics.

Let me know if you need other pics or measurements. Cheers Doug.

Thanks for the replies....
I contacted a few wheel "manufacturers" here in Australia, and the common reply was .... " You supply the correct centre, and we'll weld it to any size spec rim diameter or width or backspace you want."

In other words, I need to find some original wheels to get the centre section.

I have no urgency, so I'll keep a look out for some suitable wheels on the web and at swap meets.

Thanks again for your replies.
