I got this email, but I'm afraid I am going to be of little help to her, so I thought I would pass this on..
I don't know if she has seen this board, but so drop her an email if you can help her.
Thanks,
Dear Sir,
I have been all over the internet trying to find some information on a 1962
Buick Wild Cat, I can't seem to get anywhere.
Can you provide me with a number of Wild Cats that were manufactured in
1962, and where I can research more of this on the internet??
My E-mail Address is Shedo7@msn.com, this is very important to me and would
appreciate any advise you can give.
Thank-You,
Sherry

Did they even make a Wildcat in 62?
The best production figures I can find are here:

I'll email her with this info. I'll also ask her to provide a VIN and/or cowl tag info.

Excellent Question! The Wildcat was a trim option for the Invicta in '62 and how many were produced seems to be an unknown. I'd like to know how many were made?

I can hook her up with a company thatresearched this kind of stuff. They find out how many were made, and how many are still registered in the US today.
I did this with my Centurion....2100 made, and just under 500 left. 8 in Missouri.
Pretty cool stuff.
Taylor, you say it was a trim option on the 62. Would the "Invicta Sport Coupe" be the Wildcat?

The '62 Wildcat was part of the Invicta line, 2 door sport coupe, dual exhaust, bucket seats, vinyl top etc. Count was included with the Invicta 2 dr coupe shared the VIN
Model 4647-Two-DoorSport Coupe................................12,355
I've looked at everything I have here and I found one book that says they made 4,000. Here's one for sale for $16K!

An Invicta Sport coupe could have been ordered with the Wildcat Trim. I always think of it as an SS Invicta, Chevrolet did the same thing with the Impala starting in '61. Seems like I've seen convertible '62 Wildcats but can't recall ever seeing a 4-door.

I keep a simple text file handy so whenever I come across a proclaimed production figure, either in an ad or an article, I can 'jot' it down. I recall reading a thread on another board where (according to my list- I do not bother to record the source) someone had the figure for '62 'cats at 1,116 built. It was the first & only time I'd ever seen an exact number for the '62 (which was only a 2-dr hardtop in '62).
Roberta- your link does have some mis-information on it, such as "...oversized 10 inch drum brakes" listed under '62 (of course all full-size Buicks used the famous 12" finned aluminums). Also, I wonder what was intended (or is it a typo?) with "...LT401"?
"LT"???

I used to own a 62 2dr hdtp with the bucket seats, floor console with tach, vinyl roof, etc. This was indeed an Invicta option for 62,but a series for 63. To my knowledge they never made anything but the 2dr. My car was a one owner 52000 mi car until 3 yrs ago when an addition to the house was needed. If memeory serves me 2000 was the number produced(going off of the history of Buick). What a neat car!! I think I know where another is at.........Eric

Should be a 4I not sure where this site gets their info. Their article on hot rod and street rod Buicks also has some errors. RV

"LT" would be the correct designation for the '65 401. Their info needs a good scrub.
