hey fellas, I have a question that has might of been asked before but I am new to this forum so. Wanted to know if i will see any power gains (low & top end) in my fully stock 1972 buick 350 if i were to swap out my 2bbl and cast iron intake with a 4bbl and ta proformance intake manifold? now the car has duel exhaust with factory manifolds. Also what size Carb should i put on that will give me the best proformance? and i do intend on more additions to this car ( cam, rockers etc.) but need to start somewhere any input would be a big help thx:TU:

You will see some power gain by swapping to the 4bbl intake. A stock iron 4bbl intake will give you the same performance over an aluminum one (although there is a weight savings with aluminum) if you are doing this on a budget. A stock Quadrajet 4bbl carb is an excellent one to use.

On my '72 I swapped from 350 2bbl to 4bbl ('72 4bbl iron intake and Quadrajet), kept the exhaust manifolds, and swapped from single exhaust to dual x-pipe 2.5 inch Magnaflow exhaust and saw a nice increase. Adding in a posi rear will help you even more.

The 1972 Buick 350 4bbl Quadrajet carb has 750 cfm. If your car will be mostly stock with a mild cam then the Quadrajet would probably still be your best bet. You can have the Quadrajet carb modified for more performance as well.

Stay with the quadrajet and have a reputable builder go through it. There are a few here on the board that do excellent work on qjets.
