I have one of the 1965 Buick GS's with the 401 dual quad set-up and 3-speed manual transmission. The rear seal is starting to leak. I would like to replace it but do not know what make this transmission actually is. It is an iron housing transmission. The 4 outer most mounting holes for bolting it to a bell-housing completely miss the bell-housing and it is attached instead to the bell-housing by the 4 inner most holes. It has 2 sets of mounting holes. There is a sheet metal tag rivoted to the side of the transmission but since it is in the car, I cannot get in to see what the tag says. It appears to be a top loading transmission. Also, if it helps, the read end is the 373 Auburn posy. The car is original and has never been apart, so I don't believe that anyone has changed the transmission. I do know they made about 600 cars with the 3-speed but have yet to find any information of what kind or what manufactuer this 3-speed is. I would greatly appreciate any information anyone may have. Thanks.
