Hey all you V8Buick.com-ers and BPG'ers - how about a gathering sometime someplace at the show?

I suggested ( after Roberta suggested it) that we get together before the general membership meeting on Thursday night. We could also have a table in the Hospitality tent with a sign that could be a gathering place. There is another thread that has a luncheon planned at a buffet on Friday, but many of us will be at Milan. Let me knoe what you think, and I will put the plans in motion. :beer :beer

Thanks Joe - I guess I missed that thread! will only be in for the weekend, so maybe a tent "meeting place" would be best, or something at the track, or could we do something Saturday?????

Joe :
That would be so nice if you could do that. Would love to meet you, Dennis Manner, and any other Board member there. I am sure others feel the same.

I don't have a room, I have a house, 15 minutes from the show. The Parents, sister, brother, sister-in-law and 1 and 2 yr old NEPHEWS have priority. So I don't think there will be too many slushies flowing. Wednesday I do Hospitality Tent duty from 1-3PM, Thursday, my brother and I are the guides for the V-6 Engine plant tour, where he used to work, from 10-2, and I have to be at the BCA General Membership meeting at 7PM on Thursday as I am still on the Board of Directors for the BCA til Sunday Morning's meeting after 6 years! and Friday we are RACING! Track opens at 10:30 AM, it's 72 miles so we will probably leave with everyone I can fit in the crew cab and one other car, maybe my brother's '56 Century and be back for dinner at my place or somewhere else, since I already told them I'm not cooking and then the dancing in the streets and FIREWORKS! Saturday, well that's when the show is and will be trying to see everyone and all 1600+ cars. Email me for my cell# or nextel direct connect # if you want to find me!
Everyone, please have a safe trip, headlights on helps, and lots of space between you and the car in front of you, cause you never know what lurks ahead. See you Soon! RV

I think we should have a time to meet on Saturday too. I will have more info later in the week as all cars will be parked by year, if you registered your car then you will have a specific area to park in, if you didn't then you are walking from the public parking or taking a shuttle bus to the show! Later this week when I see the layout of the show field, I will recommend a meeting place, which right now could be the area where the '68 GS' will be staged, cause you can't miss my RED '68 GS 400 convertible! Was thinking that 10AM on Saturday would work, more soon! As well, as a plan for the folks going to the drag race on Friday, we may plan to meet for breakfast before nearby the M-23 Expressway, so we can talk about the race and other stuff! RV Stay tuned!

Saturday would be good for me...:TU: I will not be getting into Flint until early Friday afternoon... I will be spending most of my time Friday at the Sloan Museum going through the old Buick paperwork ( I have an appointment).... I be the one with the huge grin on my face taking in all of the info that I can...
Keep me posted for the Saturday meeting....

From Barb and Dale:
You are invited to our annual fireworks party this SATURDAY, July 26.
TIME: Come over any time after the car show ends (4pm or later - most of the crowd probably will show around 6 or 7pm).
FOOD: We won't be doing a full barbecue this year due to participating in the Buick Centennial Celebration, but will have hot dogs, baked beans, pop and munchies - feel free to bring a dish to pass, snacks, sweets, etc, but it's not required.
BYOB if you wish.
We have picnic tables, but you may want to bring lawn chairs too, if it's convenient.
Kids are more than welcome, of course!
Plenty of room for camping, motor homes, etc - if you would like to stay over Friday or Saturday please let us know. We are about 20 minutes from the Centennial Celebration and out-of-towners are welcomeBarb (badaca@centurytel.net)

Unfortunately it is too late to register, you can still come and enjoy the car show, and swap over 1700 cars and 135 vendors in swap RV

That's what I did, I had a great time in Flint!
I found some parts too and met nice people!
I should have followed your advice and have registered back in February.
At least, I had friends that were able to get me a ticket for the banquet on Saturday so I could go with them.
While I was waiting outside to enter to the banquet, I saw someone in a nice 56 Special 2 door sedan, I guess it was you!
