View Full Version : Finally got my wheels/tires

Finally got my wheels yesterday that where supposed to take 6-8 weeks. After various excuses, I was able to pick them up after waiting 17 weeks! The tires were almost as difficult to obtain since they aren't used for anything but a Lamborghine Countach. Not much demand. Now the REAL work can begin on "Project Opelsauce".:pp Without the backspacing specs, I couldn't do much other than shop for parts. Wanted the wheels to look Buick Rallyish. Here are a couple of pics.

Sweet - great looking tires and wheels! What size are the rears? Are they P Zero's?

Thanks. The fronts are
225-50ZR15's on 15x7's and the rears are 345-35ZR15's on
15x12 wheels. Yes, they're Pzeros. I have a couple of 'Vette owner friends that
are VERY envious. :pp

They're awfully short for an A-body, so what on earth are you putting these on?

Blowncash got it right. With a "little" tubbing in the rear, they should be a nice fit on my Opel Manta. Prividing a pic of one similar (mine is scattered about the shop in pieces). Doing a silver paint, but the side stripe will be candy red instead of black and have a resized GSX rear spoiler. Basically, Project Opelsauce will be a Manta GSX.

X2, I like the crossover between the old(er) and new look. Nice choice.

Goin' as fast as I can Mark. It doesn't help when it takes more than twice as long as promised to get wheels built. The front end has a bolt-in subframe and it's heading to Scott's Hotrods next week as a mock up now that I have dimensions for tire fitment. It's gona have a buncha $ thown at it very soon.

what's going under the hood to turn those beastly beauties? Tub it and lower it and Foose would be envious!

After talking to Mike (@TA Perf.), we should have a combo that will work well based on their aluminum block. Goin' for 585 cubes using the Stage 2 heads & SPX intake. Using Mass-flo injection & custom 4-2-1 headers (tight fit). Trans will be an Xtreme 200-4r with a 12 bolt bringing up the rear. Air struts from Ridetech will keep the ride and height in control along with Wilwood discs front and rear.
