I have a 69 Buick GS that I've had for 8 years now. I'm 26 so haven't had money or time to do much with it. I am replacing the tires and I have 15 inch buick wheels on it and need to know a good size tire to throw on. I currently have 225-70-15 all the way around and would like to make the car look nice with some white letter bfgoodrich radial t/a's. Thank you for any help you can give me.

I know with 70-72's 245/60/15 is the G60 replacement, not sure on the 69's though. Have you checked in the tire section??

275/60/15 for the back is as wide as you can go on stock 15" buick Mags. I like to stagger then and have the fronts at least 2 sizes smaller for that "aggressive" look.

The last set of tires I've been running are Cooper Cobra's and I'm loving the handling they give ... and they leave Really nice :3gears: stripes

Just put 245/60-15's on my '69 and they fit perfect....back wheel/tire would not fit into wheel well with drum on...had to take off drum, put in wheel/tire, then squeeze drum back on while holding wheel up. Got probably 1" outside clearance though once in.

you must have lifted the car with the suspension - if you lift it on the frame just in front of the rear wheel you can fit the top in the wheel well then lift the tire up and its then on the drum.

... done it hundreds of times changing tires over the years at the track.

Actually had the car on a lift...couldn't fit the tire in between the drum and fender lip unless I removed drum. Maybe I didn't fiddle with it long enough to find the right method. :Do No:
