I have a 455 with 308 s cam, SP 1, dominator 1050, 12.5 to 1 comp., and 1" spacer. The highest vacum reading I have achieved is around 5" at idle. Is this kinda low or normal for this cam. No leaks that I can find and idles quite well. Any help?

That cam was not exactly designed for hgh vac. at idle. WHat kind of timing are you running at idle? More timing can give more vac. I would not be surprised with idle vac. in that range with that big of a cam. Jim Burek

Thanks for the reply.
Cam timing is at 12 deg. it seems to start the best around there.
Just want to make sure I dont have A carb problem or any thing.
