I am tring to install a dual exhaust system on my 1956 buick and have put on a rear exit manifold and can not clear the starter.
I have tried a late model starter from a 401 .
???????????
Is there a "mini" starter I could use or ??????
Thanks !

if you cant find anything to clear it ou might be able to find a master metal fabricator around or on the net. i sure they would be able to creat somthing to fit.

Maybe this weekend I'll get a few pics with the car on a hoist. Its really hard to see anything otherwise.
BTW, My exhaust was run using the factory forward facing manifold.

NailHead Sled, you should think strongly about moving the positive battery cable away from the exhaust pipe or you may not have a car to show pictures of anymore. I am willing to bet that the cable is getting hard & the plastic coating is starting to deterierate from the heat of the exhaust being so close to the cable. Just my .02 worth. Tom

Yup Tom, good call. It wasn't untill I took the pics that I realized just how close it came. Thanks for the heads up.
