Pre-regiatration and its $10 savings ends this Saturday, Sept 13. It's $20 now, $30 day of race, which is Oct 4. Be there or be square!

So did you fix the 350, or find a running big block? I still haven't made time to go back to the junkyard and look at that pair of 69 Rivis. That's all my wife needs is for a couple of more Buicks to follow me home.
FWIW, the hotel is sold out, and the rooms blocked out for the event were released last Wed if they didn't have a reservation. So this late in the game, you'll need to find a place to stay. Maybe there's still some internet specials that can be found. Glad to hear you're going to make it.

I'm acutally fixing the 350. I couldn't find a 455 locally so I'm having the 350 built up better than before. Jim Burek is re-doing the heads for me and I should have them back by the end of this week. Want to hear flow numbers? How does 255 cfm on the intake sound at .480 lift? Exhaust is 190 cfm at .500 lift. Not bad for a small block. The new cam I'm putting in has .496 lift on both intake and exhaust so I can take advantage of the heads. The best part is the flow at .300 in. lift.
Any ways I should have the motor back together by the middle of next week. That gives me about a week and a half to make sure every thing is working right. Not much different from last year. I don't have to worry about a place to stay in Vegas. I have family that lives there so there won't be any room fees.:) I'm going evan if I have to drive another car and don't get to race.

Sort of bad news good news thing...
Due to a number of things the 72GS Skip and I are working on won't be finished in time to ship back to me for Chicagoland club race on Oct 5.
So it will be still on the left coast, and be ready for LV on Oct 4. Second year for this car at the race, but we did a few things to it in the meantime. So it may go pretty good. Hope you'll be seeing our tail lights.
Have fun...

Stage 1 fully ported heads, old set of headers as partial payment for Stg2 hood mod, Higher (unkown) stall converter for a ST300, a built SP400 I had laying around...all being stuffed in the 68 GS350 for the boys from the shop to play with at Vegas.

For anyone following this thread... The 455 in the picture that Skip posted is now IN the 68 and was fired for the first time today.... Man does it sound good with open headers.

I only have one left and they broke up the field into at least 4 brackets. Maybe we should have a run-off of all V8 bracket winners at the end. I did not have time to get anymore made so there are only 3 that I know of. Yours, mine and the extra one in my desk.

Skip, I'll send one of the prototype BPG hats tomorrow and hope it gets there in time. Token of appreciation for one of the racers.

Won't get out of LoCal till about 7pm. Art Carr is done with the trans so we should be more competative this year! See you all about 1 am Thurs or sometime on Friday.

Ok, so what is going on Friday the 3rd?
The West Coast Nats website lists Test and Tune from 4 - 10 pm... However,The LV Speedway website www.lvms.com lists this event as the: "Super Car Spectacular (Toyota Supras, Buick GNs, Mustangs, F-Bodies) Final Outlaw Eliminator" and says practice on Friday starts at 5:30 pm.
So here are my questions:
What is the deal with the Toyotas and Mustangs?
Is test and tune worth checking out? If so, what time?
Race day --- What time should spectators arrive? 7am?
Thanks:TU:

We're lumped in with other cars because there won't be enough Buicks to get the track exclusively. It's many thousands of $$$$.
Notice the GNs under Supercar banner? Those are Buicks and it's their show that we're invited to. We shared the track with Mustangs last year with no delays; we had as many T&T runs as we could stand. So yes, it's worth checking out. They'll probably run the brand 'x' cars separate and the Buicks on their own. It's just a matter of lining up in different staging lanes. The facility can more than handle a bunch of cars. 5pm - 10pm or so.
Be there.

Steve at Art Carr's California Performance Transmissions tells me that with the new trans in Mike's car your 12.87 is toast!

:beer :beer it is! You didn't expect me to shake with fear and not challenge you back, dija? I certainly hope that 12.87 is toast... FOR ME.
Gonna be fun Skip. Lookin' for my best ET, brackets are just fringe, and Sam and Scott have already spoken for the prizes.:Do No:

Looking forward to it. Even if the car is fast, you will likely beat this old man on the tree. Are the lights going to be LED's? BTW, Steve Lancaster, the main man at CPT, will be there on Saturday. He is very fothcoming with transmission information and a good guy to boot!

Just got this from Jon.FYI
Skip there will be fuel ....probably close at 9 pm Friday night
though....but suppose to be there all day sat.
I think there will only be one v8 bracket, but if 50 v8's show up then
well split it up.....chances are 20-30 cars I d guess.

STIPES! The guys left with the '72 about 2pm LoCal time. We put the trans in last night and did a little T&T at noon. Car has to be at least a 1/2 sec. faster than it was. Even the hemi guy at the shop is smiling! What a rush! I cannot belive how this thing pulls:jd:
