I have a 52' Roadmaster that was lowered 4" by the previous owner. All of us gearheads know that spring heating is not the right way to lower a car. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best two ways to re-lower my car. I want to leave the original front clip on the frame, and I dont want to cut into the body. I would also like to put 18" wheels on the car, but I realize that 18"s may not work with 4" of drop.

You have several options. You can buy a set of dropped springs from vendors such as Detroit-Eaton etc. Or you could even pick up some stock height units and cut a few coils out of them. Making sure of course that you do not over heat the coils in the process. I have had good success using my trusty reciprocating saw and a couple of new blades.

Could dropped spindles from Jamco or Fatman Fabrications fit into the scenario aswell ?
