Although the bolt pattern is the same, you'll probably run into problems with the extra backspacing of the Z28 rims. Try 'em to be sure - I just don't think they'll work without spacers.

David - The factory 15" x 7" rims had a 3.75" backspace with the 5x4.75 bolt pattern.
I believe I've heard of guys running 10 rims with either a 4 7/8" or 5" backspacing. You can fit a big enough tire on a 8" wide rim anyway.

I've actually tried something simular. I have a 94 camaro and when I got new wheels for it I wanted to see if my old ones would fit on my 69 Riviera for some temporary tires in good condition. Unfortunatly they didn't fit. The rim and tire interfered with the frame of the car.
Does anyone know what the stock size tire was that was put on the old 15x7 rims? I would just go out and look at the tires on it now but I'm about 90 miles away frm the car at the moment...
I doubt they will fit....the camaro wheels have a huge offset compared to what is needed for our cars which is usually half. Too bad, the 17" polished aluminum wheels on my 97 WS6 Formula were LIGHT, these steel buick rally wheels are some heavy for sure....
Stock size on the 15x7 wheel was a G60 which works out to about a 235/60R15 (some say 245 but basically get as much tread as you can under there.....the 235 or 245 measurment is across the sidewall, NOT the tread width as so many assume).

What is the widest tire that will fit on the 7" rim?

I just got done cutting, w/ a saws-all one of my old falling apart tires off of my ralley rim in preparation to refinish it(I'm definatly going to just let Discount Tire take the others off, too much work). And the stamping on the inside of the rim says 15x6. Were only the rivs equipped w/ 6" wide rims instead of the 7" that I thought they were? What is the widest tire I could fit on this width or rim?
