I just picked up a 59 LeSabre and its got a cracked windshield. I was looking at all the 59 GM cars and the windshields appear to be the same. Dose anybody know if they are the all same or do I have to find one off another buick?

All '59 windshields would be the same, assuming the body style of the car is the same. Does your car have tinted glass? If so, try to find one that is tinted.
2-door hardtop and 4-door hardtop (flattop) windshields interchange, but the 4-door sedan and Estate Wagon windshields are taller and steeper. I am uncertain whether the convertible windshields are the same as the hardtops, and I believe that the Electra 225 Riviera Sedan and Cadillac 6-window 4-door hardtops take the sedan windshield.

I was gouing to make a poster board template before I hit the junk yards just to make sure, but then again if chevy used them I could probably buy one new. Thanks for the help,.

You should call an automotive glass place. The silhouettes of the 59 gm's look pretty close, but close won't work. The info on the hardtops and sedans is correct, I learned that first-hand. Since buicks and olds seem to have a lot of commonality like chevys and pontiacs used to, I bet a 59 olds (like those are easy to find) would work. But a new one shouldn't be more than 200.$ I would think.

I have a 63 LeSabre and I got a new windshield in one day from my local glass guy, same as a 2 door hardtop Impala, you should be able to do the same without any trouble.

I am not sure where you are at but there is a junkyard in Montana that has a lot of parts for 59's. I also need a windshield for mine and he said he has several. Here is his website http://www.fremansauto.com/. His prices seem reasonable.
I have a windshield for you. 100.00 plus shipping. Very good condition.

I will check with a buddy of mine in OKC, but I believe he is looking for one for his '59 Caddy, he had a perfect one in his extra bedroom and a bud got drunk and tripped on it, he got another really nice one took it out, brought it home over 100 miles in good condition and broke it setting it on the ground. But do check with the local glass dealers, you'd be suprised what is lying around and can still be purchased.
