HELP!!! Need info [Archive]

I'm looking at buying an 87 GMC fullsize pickup. It's RWD automatic, and has a TBI 305. What are the engine specs for this thing? also, is the tranny a 700 R4, or a 3 speed? If so, what is it? Thanks a lot!

It could have either a 3 speed or a 4 speed, both were available then. I had and 88 and a 89 that both had a TH400s and a 87 that had a th700r4.
