"It will beat most 5.0's"

Late September, myself and my 4 year old were heading back from the La Mesa Cruise night (one week late, last one was the week prior), and it traffic this little black Integra starts playing with me. You know, rev it up, zoom past and then drop back. My daughter starts chanting "faster, Faster, FASTER!!!". Finally we hit a stop light and its just us. He rolls his window down and motions me to do the same. No problem, hit the switch and the passenger windows drops. His jaw :jd: !?!?!? Guess he did not expect power winows. He is very respectful and comments on how nice my GS looks and sounds. I did the same. In his defense his Integra was a sleeper, no big wing, super loud fart can or stickers. Very clean, except for the blow off valve, :rolleyes: , very loud when it let loose. My daughter starts yelling "go, Go, GO, GO"... He comments that his car will beat most 5.0's. I said "too bad for him, I left my 5.0 at home". And told him, "when ever your ready", motioning to the light.

The light turns green and we look at each other and I mouth "after you". He takes off and I gave him half to one car length, then I let slip the hounds of HELL. :grin: :grin: .

I smok'um through first and as I'm passing him with second smoking, my daughter waves to him, and the big BFG's hook, and were off. I can here the rev limiter and blow off valve on that little Acura singing. Man, he was trying hard, but once I had 4 or 5 lengths on him and still pulling (and a stoplight) I let out of it. We come to a stop and he is:shock: :shock: . All he can say is "WOW". Me being a smart a$$, I tell him this ain't no 5.0. We turn onto Jamacha Bvld and play in the twisties for a second and then he turned off.

When he pulled off of Jamacha Bvld I got big :TU: :TU: from him. Not all Ricers are bad.

It's funny how Ford hasn't made a 5.0 Mustang for over 8 years, but people still see them as the standard of what you can do.

Knowing a lot of guys running the LS1, that's really the standard for today that the 5.0 was yesterday.

Having had three 5.0 notchbacks (2 es-staters), this still amuses me - especially knowing that for the most part the stockers were low 14/high 13 second cars. And that's in the hands of a capable driver.

Normally I wouldn't worry about the decalled/exhausted imports. It's the ones that show nothing that are to be watched.

:grin: Its very nice to finally see a ricer with some intelligence. I dont mind the ricers that actually know that the muscle cars are no joke. Most kids my age drive ricers....alot of my friends i should say, im the only one who drives a american car...a buick at that...and im 18! They said they thought only old people drove buicks.

Well atleast he had a turbo and no big wing. Usually they spend the money like this:
1) big muffler
2) big wing
3) carbon fiber drink holders
4) new 7" clutch

yeah not all import people are bad i just hate the ones that think their all fast as hell just because they have some ridiculously big wing or fart cannon exhaust and intake but some of them are cool and every once in a while youll run into one that has a truly fast car.

I regard ricers as I regard a special ed person. In their own world they can believe they are kings. But, sometimes the real world has to wipe their butts.

I'm only 15, and it drives me nuts to these guys goin down the street in their ricers, and they rev it up like their bad but all they have is a crappy lookin' spoiler and a fart pipe that sounds like crap, or like someone's taking a crap. I see guys goin down the street and they've got it to the floor and their shiftin' like their trying to break the stick but their only goin like 40mph. My mom used to have a '97 Sunfire GT, and she smoked this ricer, she had absolutely nothing done to it. It was funny.
