Was thinkin of puttin some headers on my green machine. Its a 1970 le sabre. A few questions..

Are these hard parts to find? or can I find a set that will fit my engine at my local parts source.

Also, besides looking nicer, will there be a good improvement on performance?

Is all the labour invloved in this work worth it?

oh man! This is nutz:laugh:

So anyway, Steve...

If you 've got a 350, then I am pretty sure TA has the headers for you. I bet they can walk you thourgh any extra steps you need to take in order to bolt those headers in.

If you can make it work...then do it! It';s worth it.

Doubt anyone in Canada is going to have headers for a Buick 350...

Try this:

www.taperformance.com

Give them a call!:TU:

Beware Buicks legendary breaking exhaust manifold bolts! That could be a real pain if you break one while the engine is still in the car.

Hey Adam is you new avatar a photo shop deal or is that MAR at Wentzville? Used to go there all the time until I found out Gateway was running Street tire cars only on Tuesday nights.

Adam

MAR is a good facility and a fun place to race but Gateway is much closer to me. The first Tuesday I ran at Gateway I finished tech at 6PM and made six passes, sat in the stands and watched about ten minutes and was on my way home at 8PM.

Hey, listen to this funny story 'bout my uncle's GS and his headers. I was out at my uncle's house about 2 months ago, you may have heard of him, his name is Don Colomb, he has a '66 Skylark GS with a Nailhead and it runs 11.91. Anyway, we came out to his house, my bro and I, we had both ridden in the thing but we hadn't fired it up in a while. When we got there, my uncle was putting his shoes on and we asked where he was going, he grabbed his keys and said he was gonna go fire up the beast. We went out there, and it fired up without any problems. My uncle popped the hood to make sure it all looked good. He pull the throttle and reved it up a few times, and it was loud as hell. It's a Nailhead with headers, it's loud, believe me. Anyway, after we let it run for a few minutes and got tired of it being to loud to think, he went ahead and shut it down. He said it souded really good and there seemed to be no problems with it. Well he looked down and saw some black powdery stuff on the floor beneath the engine. He knelt down and looked up under it and just says "Oh my". My bro knelt down and looked, and he said " Holy sh*t, they blew out." And then i knelt down to look, and it was so funny, the headers came down out of the block and started to curve back up, but from that point on, there was no more pipe. The headers had disintegrated where they curved back up and you could look straight into the pipe. I was just like :jd: . Lol, it was so funny.
