This is my restomod in progress. Its a 1961 Blair. im building a 409 and 4 speed to put into it. It was a 283 powerglide car. My wife and i have been doing a on and off again frame off restoration. It has a 9" ford rear and currently 4' and 10" cragar vintage SS rims. We have done all the work except the seats. Im hoping to have it driveable this year. Drew.

The 409's definitely have the Cool factor going for them!!:bglasses: :TU:
Not to mention, you can stroke them quite easily, to get in the 482" range (454" crank - mains cut down to 409").:TU:

Funny thing about the 409 cars. I think the factory made 102 in 1961 Impala SS cars and 2 were convertibles. I have never seen a real one that I know of? It was a mid year dealer add on package deal. It sort of like any musclecar now. Seems their more for sale and running around than the factory produced! My car started life as a 283 powerglide basic no option car. Ive owned my 409 longer than the car. I was lucky enough to work for an auto parts warehouse and bought all the 409 parts that I could. Only wish my extra income was more than. Yes their is aluminum heads for sale from Lamar Waldon in Atlanta. I think they sell for about $3500 range. Thanks for the nice comments everyone about my non Buick car. Anyone have any 409 parts? Drew.:pp
