Every year we have a restoration clinic at the GS Nationals. We often ask for a restored car to be displayed there so we can go over it and answer questions that people have regarding originality and/or correct painting, etc.
Well, I have had a request to have an original paint, drivetrain, etc. "survivor car" to be displayed this year. These cars are very important, as they are the "baseline" that we use to restore our cars. You can't get better information then looking at an original car. Maybe we could get a restored car, that is also the same year/model to sit along side it to see the differences. It would be pretty interesting.
Anyway, I wanted to know what you guys think, and to find out what "survivor" cars will be at this years GS Nationals, so we know what we have to pick from. If there is enough interest I could do this during the day, somewhere at the track, so we could see everything easier. Then later we could also discuss this at the Resto Clinic. It would be nice if we could get a few different examples for display.
We could also do this at the BPG Nationals this year in Salem Ohio.
Let me know what you think.
